Lara Butler


Lara performs analysis related to valuations of privately held middle-markets companies, including companies with Employee Stock Ownership Plans.  She is skilled in the areas of gathering due diligence information and analyzing guideline public companies, as well as examining merger and acquisition markets.  Lara also studies the economic and industry conditions that can impact a company’s financial statements.



Prior to joining Chartwell, Lara was a financial analyst at IBM, where she managed financial transactions for large organizations and served as a brand lead for the systems development expense division.


As an undergraduate student, Lara was an equity research analyst for her school’s endowment fund.  She interned at a technology startup and a startup accelerator company.  Lara was also a Chicago Ventures Fellow, where she evaluated startups for potential investment.


Lara graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with concentrations in finance and marketing from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business.
