Wil brings over 30 years of expertise in financial advisory services, with a focus on ownership transition strategies for privately held middle-market companies. He specializes in executing traditional M&A transactions on both the sell and buy sides and has a focus on guiding business owners through sales to newly formed Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs).

As an advisor for both private and ESOP-owned companies, Wil offers strategic insight into complex corporate finance matters, aiding owners, boards, and management teams in making informed strategic and financial decisions. His vast experience covers a diverse array of industry sectors, providing depth and adaptability to his advisory approach.

Professional Involvement & Certification

Wil is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Private Directors Association, The ESOP Association, and the National Center for Employee Ownership. His expertise is frequently sought after as a speaker on topics such as mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs, valuation, and ownership transition planning.

Wil maintains FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses and holds the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation from the American Society of Appraisers.

Jeremy manages Chartwell’s corporate accounting activities. He is a proven leader with a combination of business management, deep financial experience, and a passion for growing businesses through organic and inorganic strategies. With broad international and domestic experience supporting global businesses in a wide variety of industries, Jeremy is known for transforming businesses and achieving operational excellence with a keen focus on building value.

Professional Experience

Jeremy has nearly 30 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to Chartwell, Jeremy served in key leadership roles at Tierra Encantada (CFO), Blue Ops Partners (Managing Director), Ulteig Engineering (CFO), Fluence Corporation (CFO – North America), Jacobs Electric Company (CFO), and Pentair (Director of Corporate Business Development).

One of Jeremy’s notable career accomplishments is when he was able to increase ESOP value through client expansion, geographic expansion, and acquisitions while at Ulteig. He created an M&A playbook which was utilized in executing two bolt-on acquisitions, including the company’s first international acquisition. During the Pandemic, he pivoted to researching and reporting on economic, epidemiology, and political risks which helped the company grow.

Jeremy is a Certified Public Accountant in State of Minnesota (inactive).

Kelly oversees Chartwell’s day-to-day corporate accounting activities. She manages the accounting department staff and provides financial information about company activities to assist management, partners, and other leaders in making educated economic decisions that impact the firm.

Professional Experience

Kelly has over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Prior to Chartwell, Kelly managed the accounting, financial, and payroll functions at Salo. Preceding Salo, she spent 13 years working closely with senior business leaders of Seabury Group and held multiple accounting leadership roles including global manager of financial reporting and controller of various entities of the company. Kelly began her career as a staff auditor at a certified public accounting firm.

Diane leads the development and execution of firm-wide human resources policies and procedures and supports executive management by providing counsel and guidance on these matters. She is instrumental in upholding and communicating Chartwell’s core values of trust and respect through the development of effective policies. She is responsible for overseeing talent management and acquisition, employee training and development, succession planning, organizational and performance management, and compensation.  

Professional Experience

Diane has over 25 years of human resources and office administration experience. Prior to Chartwell, she worked as the regional office manager at Forest City Enterprises, a mainland-based developer of military housing in Hawaii.

Nu has over 10 years of human resources and management experience and supports the recruitment, retention, and development of Chartwell’s talented team. She is responsible for recruiting coordination, employee relations, training and development organization, and benefits administration management.

Professional Experience

Prior to Chartwell, Nu held roles as Human Resources Payroll Administrator at Meshbesher & Spence, Sales and Service Manager at US Bank, and Campus Manager at The College of St. Scholastica.

Brittany leads the management and execution of Chartwell’s marketing and business development activities. She supports senior leadership with the implementation of the firm’s national strategy and is instrumental in upholding Chartwell’s brand identity. She is responsible for collateral creation, tactical level plan design, and external and internal marketing-related communications.

In addition, Brittany serves in an administrative management role within Chartwell’s operations team and is responsible for the oversight of support staff, facilities coordination, and project process design and implementation. She is experienced with assisting all practice areas and is well-versed in the maintenance of the firm’s CRM database as well as the preparation of client proposals and other deliverables.

Lindsey is a key contributor to Chartwell’s marketing team. She manages the coordination of national, regional, and local conferences and events for all trade associations in which the firm participates. Lindsey proactively assists with speaker proposals and presentations, attendee registrations, corporate group travel, and the planning of general networking and business development events.

Professional Involvement

Lindsey is an active member of The ESOP Association, where she currently serves as an officer for the Minnesota/Dakotas chapter. Lindsey is also a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO).

Professional Experience

Prior to Chartwell, Lindsey worked as an event specialist for an event planning company in the Twin Cities. Her responsibilities included acting as a liaison between clients and vendors, on-site event execution, and managing the company’s marketing efforts.

Leah supports Chartwell’s marketing and business development activities. She leads the coordination of the firm’s industry-focused Summit conferences, working closely with leadership to plan and execute events that foster meaningful engagement with clients and prospects. Leah also champions brand strategy, professional association participation, and the development of corporate marketing materials and digital content.

Professional Experience

Prior to Chartwell, Leah was Brand Manager at Thinc Strategy, where she developed creative marketing strategies and was responsible for sourcing all branded items. She has also held roles as Account Coordinator at Media People and as Digital Specialists at Media Horizons.

Melanie has over 20 years of B2B and B2C marketing experience. She has worked for two employee-owned companies, in industrial manufacturing and technology and financial services, as well as in the non-profit sector. Her focus is promoting the Chartwell brand while creating targeted messaging for business owners and financial advisory professionals as it relates to valuations, M&A, ESOP and ownership transition transactions.

Professional Experience

Prior to Chartwell, Melanie was Director of Marketing at Atlantic Management Company. In previous roles, she has served as chair of an ESOP Employee Ownership Communications Team and was an active member of The New England Chapter of The ESOP Association. During this time, she travelled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the senate and congress to lobby for support of pro-ESOP legislation. She proudly led efforts to have the month of October (2018) declared by then Governor Chris Sununu as “Employee Ownership Month” in the state of New Hampshire.

Laura Jo provides administrative and strategic support to Chartwell’s CEO, board of directors, and shareholders. She works closely with the firm’s executive leadership team to develop and implement corporate initiatives. Laura Jo also manages and maintains administrative procedures related to Chartwell’s broker dealer affiliate and its representatives. She has particular expertise in deploying new corporate technology systems and is chiefly responsible for the maintenance of Chartwell’s ERP database, engagement agreement templates, and internal recorded training programs.

Laura Jo also performs general administrative duties including schedule management, travel coordination, meeting planning, and other related tasks.
