Chris has been with Chartwell for over 20 years and leads the firm’s architecture, engineering, and government contractor practice, and also specializes in the construction industry. He provides financial advisory services to over 100 clients throughout the United States within these industry sectors. In addition to advising management teams and boards on issues related to firm valuation, ownership transition planning, and capital structure, Chris also works frequently with Employee Stock Ownership Plans, providing independent financial advisory services to ESOP Trustees and other corporate fiduciaries.



Chris is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), where he was responsible for the development of the finance tracks for ACEC’s two national conferences for nearly ten years. He is also an active member of Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA), The ESOP Association, and the National Center for Employee Ownership.


He is a Registered Representative with Chartwell affiliate, CCS Transactions, LLC and holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses. Chris is also designated as an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and has previously served as an officer of the Twin Cities chapter of the ASA.


Chris is a frequent speaker for employee and professional groups, boards of directors, and ESOP Trustees. He is also a regular presenter to national trade associations on a variety of topics including capital structures, ESOPs, M&A, ownership transition, and valuation issues.



Chris holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in finance and marketing from the University of St. Thomas.
